Here are the instructions to make Gulab Jamun, a popular Indian dessert:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup full-fat milk powder
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 tablespoons ghee, melted
  • 1/3 cup whole milk, at room temperature
  • Oil, for frying
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Sliced almonds or pistachios, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the milk powder, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Mix well.
  2. Add the melted ghee to the mixture and mix until it resembles coarse sand.
  3. Gradually add the whole milk and mix to form a smooth and soft dough. Be careful not to overmix.
  4. Divide the dough into small balls and roll them between your palms until they are smooth and round.
  5. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Add the balls to the hot oil and fry them until they turn golden brown on all sides. Remove them from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate.
  6. In a separate saucepan, add the sugar and water and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for a few minutes until the syrup thickens. Add the cardamom powder and stir.
  7. Add the fried balls to the syrup and let them soak for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Serve the Gulab Jamun warm or at room temperature, garnished with sliced almonds or pistachios, if desired.

Enjoy the sweet and syrupy Gulab Jamun, a delicious dessert that's perfect for any occasion!
